Meet Derrick Keith, the founder of D.Keith's Haberdashery

IT STARTED WITH SHOES

Derrick Keith has been collecting shoes since he was a kid, always making sure he looked sharp before he stepped out the door. That habit turned into more than personal style. It turned into a question he never stopped asking: what would it look like to have his own brand?

That question eventually took him to China, where he built the factory relationships and contacts this brand still runs on today, and to leather sourced the way it's been done in Italy for decades.

Most brands launch first and figure out product later. Derrick did it the other way around. Before D.Keith ever had a website or made a single sale, he spent years sourcing tracksuits, leather bags, and materials directly, and building up real inventory. He calls it reverse engineering: get the product right first, then build everything else around it.

By the time D.Keith went online, the tracksuits and duffels weren't a concept. They were already sitting in the store he built himself, ready to go.
